"Spiritual Warfare"

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."(Ephesians 6:13)

"The Evil Day". The Bible is filled with reasons bad things happen to good people. I know, you have been taught all your life that we don't know why and God has a reason for "allowing" bad things to happen. Some time ago I preached a series of sermons on "Why bad things happens to good people". My text verse was; "As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come."(Proverbs 26:2) The "curse causeless shall not come", in other words, there are reasons for every action on the planet. For instance, sowing and reaping, satanic attacks, speaking death over your life with words of hopelessness rather than words of hope and life, etc... "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."(Proverbs 18:21) The list of reasons is quite a lengthy one if you will actually read the Bible for yourself rather than just listening to someone else's opinion. It is what it is, we live on a sin cursed earth that is filled with darkness and evil people that are controlled by an evil spirit. "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good."(Proverbs 15:3) We are faced with both, evil and good, on the earth at all times. We must be wise and avoid evil if it's obvious but sometime we just don't see it coming. What can we do about surprise attacks? There are some things that we have no way of knowing about, so avoiding them is not an option? "The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul."(Psalm 121:7). We walk by faith and not by sight so we must trust The Lord at all times, even on the good days. In an instant, you can be blindsided and a good day can turn into a nightmare before you know what has happened. It can happen so fast and tragically that regaining the loss can almost be impossible. According to the Apostle Paul, we need to be clothed in God's armour at all times for protection from evil. The Psalmist declared that " There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."(Psalm 91:10-11). Give your ways and days to The Lord, He has you in His hands!!
