The Mother of a Prophet!!

Israel was in decay, the House of God was being led by priest that "knew not the Lord", Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli!! Hannah was a married woman but could not have children, this weighed heavy on her mind and spirit so she sought the Lord with weeping, prayer and fasting. She was consoled by her husband, provoked by her adversary and misunderstood by the Priest, Eli. She made a vow to God that if He would give her a man child she would give him to the Lord for His service. God heard her prayer, saw her tears and was moved by her weeping!! He answered and gave her Samuel, a great Prophet before the Lord. Israel as a nation needed strong spiritual leadership to get them back on track for God. A failed Priesthood had led them into a very dark time. Israel ask God for a King so they could be like other nations. The problem with this request is, God had never told them they needed to be like other nations. God spoke to the Prophet Samuel, He said give them what they want, a King, unfortunately King Saul led them further away from God. He ruled by his religious flesh instead of the Voice of God that was given him in Samuel. He ruled for forty years, toward the end of his reign his kingdom was taken from him as a result of his failed leadership. Samuel the son of Hannah the Prophet of God anointed David King to sit in the throne in King Saul's place so Saul spent ten years trying to kill David. David, anointed King of Israel, lived in caves for ten years waiting for God to move Saul from the Throne. In time David became King and righted the wrongs that had been done in his nation over the last forty plus years. If Hannah hadn't sought God in prayer, fasting and weeping, we may not have had Samuel the Prophet to anoint a King named David to rule Israel in one of their nations most desperate hours. "For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there." (‭1 Samuel‬ ‭1‬:‭27-28‬ KJV) It is my prayer that God will raise up some Hannah's to raise up a generation of Prophets like Samuel to anoint leaders like David to lead our country back to God!!! God bless you Mother-Hannah for sacrificing your son Samuel to save your nation!!! May we have the same dedication and passion for our country!!!
