What are you facing? Has it been in your life, your path, your thoughts a long time? How long? When David was anointed King of all Israel, his first task at hand was to rid Zion of the Jebusites. King Saul had tolerated the Jebusites his entire reign as King of Israel. They were accustomed to living on God's real estate because King Saul had no confidence in his office and did not use his power to destroy the strongholds in his country. He was King for forty years but in name only because he let the enemy put down roots in the land of Israel. Saul had made no attempt at removing the Jebusites nor establishing the Ark of the Covenant to its rightful place!! The Ark had been taken years earlier by the Philistines then a few months later they returned it back to Israel. The Ark in the Old Covenant represented the Glory and Presence of Almighty God!!
"And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain." (1Samuel 4:11 KJV)
But God had a Prophet named Samuel anoint a teenage boy to become King that understood what it meant to be a servant of the most High God!! When David became King he was told he couldn't take Mount Zion because the people had got used to living without the Presence of God!! They pretended to serve and worship but how can you worship without the Glory of God? David did not listen to all the voices that told him, "you can't get rid of the Jebusites", we've grown accustom to living with them looking down on us. "You can live with them too, they said", You can't do this because their too strong, they said"!
"Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David." (2 Samuel 5:7 KJV)
You can do what they say can't be done because they are not you and if you put your trust in God, it can be done!!!
