"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine."(Song of Solomon 1:2 KJV)
The Song of Songs, written by King Solomon, the son of David! It is a love story with great depth and intimacy. It is prophetic as well as practical. Prophetic in the sense of the coming Christ and His Bride, practical in reference to the intimate relationship of a husband and his wife!! Please, married couples, do yourself a favor and read it slowly, deliberately and together, it will give you a glimpse into a love only enjoyed by spiritual minded people. Sadly, most have never read it through because they bog down somewhere but please just keep reading and pray for revelation knowledge, it will come!! Solomon is always referred to as the "Beloved"and she is always referred to as "my love". The places, pleasures and power of their intimacy is referenced many times in the Song!! The anatomy of each one is described in vivid detail as well as in glimpses as if to be seen only in the shadows of the night.
All of the beautiful components of love are referenced, the drawing power of being noticed, the beating of hearts as one, weakness only brought by the intimacy of marital love..... In chapter 5 He calls her to a higher level of intimacy which she doesn't understand but follows anyway because her heart is bound to His!!! The song continues with her maturing to the point in chapter 7:11 that she ask him to come with her...... We find them together in chapter 8
"Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned." (Song of Solomon 8:6-7 KJV)
"And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If His grace is an ocean, we're all sinking.
And Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don't have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way...
Oh, how He loves us oh,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all
How He loves". Dave Crowder Band
